It's going to be a THREE WAY deal between Van, Ott & Carolina. Van sends Motte to Sens for Duchene who is flipped for Canes' 1st round pick.
Sens dump salary. Melnyck sleeps a little better and Duchene doesn't use UBER in Carolina. Everyone wins.
The prior rumour is a clever smokescreen by Ek. |

Actually, DH to the Leafs might make sense. Dougie's parents apparently have been directly involved in his career and his family is in Toronto. So this would make it easier for them to be "involved". Stranger things have been rumoured. Especially around here. |

We'll give up Hamilton for Nylander. Like yesterday. Hamilton's parents are "involved" in his career and live in Toronto. Well that alone makes this a done deal. |

Nylander for a young Dman makes sense. On HNIC they were talking about a 6 year $40m deal as being the minimum number needed to get Nylander under contract.
Leafs just can't do that with the Tavares contract ($11m) locked in and Matthews and Marner probably going to add another $22m to the cap next year. |

The Toronto Maple Leafs have reportedly asked teams to submit their offers for restricted free agent William Nylander.
Advice: This report comes from Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Nylander is still holding out. If he doesn't report to the team within 20 days, he'll be forced to sit out the entire year, which isn't beneficial to either side. Either way, it sounds like the Leafs are finally serious about listening to offers for their talented young winger.

If Hamilton is involved in trade talks I'd be comfortable with it. Gonna be pretty hard to win a trade when you deal away Nylander. |

6 years 40 million would be no problem at all. |

Interesting for sure...
But lest we forget Friedman, Bobby Mac, Dregs, Dubai and the rest of the cast all work for same overlord. This could be another negotiation tactic to get Nylander camp to cave. |

Does another team still have the ability to offer sheet Nylander? If they do the cost would be a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd.
Doesn't seem like a lot to give up if you are willing to pay someone 8M a year. I seriously don't believe any NHL team believes Nylander is worth 8M a year or 3 drafts picks. |

Montour and Kase for Nylander and Gardiner. Leafs don't think they'll be able to afford Gardiner next year. Montour gives them a few years to get Marner and Matthews signed and the roster sorted out. |

No idea who those are, but Montour better be a 50+ point equivalent defenseman and Kase a 60+ point rookie otherwise you're smoking kale. |
